Installation and Service on your Window Treatments

Not all companies and very few independent designers have theri own salaried installer. These installers are sub-contracted and are paid per/piece. The sub-contracted installers have very little incentive to attend factory training. They lose time and money when they are not working. Hunter Douglas products are the most innovative and complex in the industry. To protect yourself, ask for proof of training and Hunter Douglas certification, as well as liability insurance.

Advanced Window Fashions is proud to provide Installers and Technitions certified at the Master Installer level, which is the highest level. Our Installers and Technitions are not only certified in blinds, shades and shutters, but also in repair. Advanced Window Fashions takes pride in it's service. Our installers are insured, professional, courteous, well mannered and will wear protective shoe coverings in your home. Considering you and your home is very important to us and we will treat your home like our own.

Know Your Warranty

What do you do when you've had your treatment for a year or so and the controls or cord breaks or your blind or shutter begins to warp, crack or peel?

The warranty of the treatment will depend on where you bought your blind and who manufactured the blind.

No Warranty
Usually found with " off the shelf" products. These items are considered disposable, and will usually be covered by the store return policy. If the blind has been cut down or altered the return is almost impossible.

Limited Lifetime Warranty
The product has a limited lifetime, usually 1 to 3 years. After that time, cords, controls and fabric separation are not covered.

Lifetime Limited Warranty
This warranty comes with all Hunter Douglas products. You will have a limited warranty for the lifetime of the product when it has been installed properly and has not been misused or abused. Hunter Douglas considers the product lifetime to be 10 years, although Advanced Window Fashions has never seen them not honor a true warranty issue. the Hunter Douglas warranty is also easy to read. Hunter Douglas even guarantees cords for 7 years and motors for 5 years.

Indoor Air Quality and Blinds

Increasing indoor air quality has been one of the biggest pushes in the industry over the last few years. Many window treatments emit gasses inside your home, decreasing the air quality.

The independent standard to certify products is known as GREENGUARD. Watch for terms like "environmentally safe", "environmentally friendly" and improved indoor air quality". These are marketing terms with no proven standard.

Hunter Douglas products have been GREENGUARD certified, with the exception of a few solar window shades. Advanced Window Fashions will gladly provide the certificates upon request. The GREENGUARD logo is below.
